First Sri Lankan to lecture the Classical, Flamenco and Contemporary Guitar in an university. and also the first Asian to developed a syllabus for Classical, Flamenco and Contemporary Guitar for four year BA degree. (Bachelor of Performing Arts) & Master of Arts (MA) Degree Programme in Classical & Flamenco Guitar.
Amaranath Ranatunga is a Sri Lankan contemporary guitarist and composer. He uses his own extended techniques in his compositions in creating a new wave in music. At present he is lecturing classical and contemporary guitar at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka for BA and MA degree programs. His third book 'New Wave for a Musician' is now available as an ebook and paperback published by Amazon.com. In addition to the three CDs he has published the other three albums 'Your Way', 'The Impact' and 'Another Journey' are now available on streaming platforms.
